All Tang Swords have the same basic design of a blade to which a guard and handle are fixed.  Additionally for our oxtail and goose quill sabers a pommel is fitted to finish the handle.

Our swords are designed to withstand light contact sparing with other wooden weapons.  Key features which enable this are a full tang design where the blade extends fully through the handle and a laminated two piece guard design.  These features give our swords greater strength and longevity in use.  However,  wood has its limitations, consequently we do not recommend our swords for heavy impact sparing with wooden or metal weapons.

Each sword is hand built one at a time and in lmited numbers to ensure quality and attention to detail.  This process also provides multiple options to customize each sword.  Blade length, choice of woods, balance in hand, and personalized decorative details can all be tailored.

We use only carefully selected and ethically sourced hard woods and natural finishes.  To provide a strong and durable finish we use only 100% tung oil. Commonly we use seven coats of oil which leaves a subtle matt sheen finish that enhances the natural color and grain of the wood.  We also use a polymerized tung oil finish in situations where a hard high gloss finish is desired.
